Dementia is one of the biggest global health problems facing society today and affects around 50 million people worldwide. Over the last two decades, there has been remarkable progress in understanding the human brain and the biology of dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases. However, despite this progress, there remains a lack of understanding of dementia and how to treat it effectively.
Here we will show how UCL's flagship Dementia MSc is helping to meet the global dementia challenge - by focusing our world-leading research and expertise in dementia prevention, diagnosis and treatment to inspire and equip the next generation of international clinicians and scientists to solve the daunting challenge of finding a cure for dementia.
The panel discussion will also address the specific theme of Dementia Action Week - the impact of Covid-19 on people with dementia and the shortfall in the social care system, and how we are educating clinicians and researchers to tackle this.
