Conducting a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): from Theory to Practical Application
Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a rapidly evolving tool used to determine impacts of products or systems over a range of environmental and resource issues. Applying this method of assessment is complex and difficult and translating the theory into a credible, transparent and applicable practice can be very challenging. This video is about UCL’s short course on LCA methods and how to apply them in real-life situations. It features course leader Dr Aiduan Borrion and a number of course participants. Essential Lab Skills and Molecular Biology Techniques Workshop
Video about UCL’s workshop on essential lab skills and molecular biology techniques, featuring course leader Dr Caroline Pellet-Many and a number of course participants. This course is aimed at those who need to carry out laboratory work but lack the confidence to do so due to a change in career or lack of recent time in the lab. During the practical four-day course, participants learn a wide range of techniques used in the laboratory and, in particular, a molecular biology lab - from cloning to cell biology. Before the workshop, participants receive online training in general lab skills, as well as an overview of molecular biology notions. This course has been approved by the Royal Society of Biology for purposes of CPD.
