In the fourth seminar of the Repurposing TIN series, partner organisations will describe how they have successfully furthered their mission to translating discoveries from the laboratory to marketplace for the benefit of patients. We will discuss new (and non-traditional) collaboration, business and funding models arising to bridge stakeholders, and also how these partnerships have helped change prescribing policies and build a more supportive overall pathway.

In the third seminar of the Repurposing TIN series our speakers, from industry, biotech, charities and non-profit organisations, will explore how new collaborative models with multi-stakeholder partnerships are being employed to maximise synergy among different sectors and the impact that such models have had in certain fields of medicine (e.g. rare and paediatric disorders and oncology) where drug repurposing plays a prominent role. We will also discuss what major opportunities and pitfalls to look out for in drug repurposing partnering.

The first seminar of the series will focus on technological challenges and will showcase the innovative solutions developed by industry-leaders in the Drug Repurposing field. The Medicines Discovery Catapult will guide us through various approaches to identify drug candidates and guide development of treatments for unmet medical needs with specific case studies. Additionally, speakers will explore the world of machine learning and artificial intelligence and will introduce the audience to topics like classification and predictive models, image-to-drug translation, and 3D CNNs for enhanced activity models. Presentations from Healx and Biovista, will explore the powerful impact of artificial intelligence on drug repurposing efforts to find new therapeutic opportunities.

In this webinar recording, the UCL Repurposing Therapeutic Innovation Network (TIN) provide an opportunity to improve understanding in increasing the likelihood of success in drug repurposing. Encouraging a multi-disciplinary approach integrating pharmacological, pharmaceutical and clinical expertise at early clinical drug development, aspects related to safety and efficacy considerations for drug reformulation will be discussed and illustrated by a specific case study.
Speakers include Repurposing TIN Coordinator Dr Asha Recino and Chair Prof. Oscar Della Pasqua, giving an introduction and overview of the current landscape/challenges in drug repurposing. This is followed by a talk by invited speakers Dr Mine Orlu and Dr Robert Pitceathly, titled "Mind the Gap: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Drug Repurposing", and a Q&A.
