Rich Palser is a Lecturer in Access to Higher Education at Tower Hamlets College and the third of four generations of his family to have played active roles in Woodcraft Folk since the 1930s. He has published research on Woodcraft Folk in relation to 1960s youth culture in Socialist History journal.
