Ragnar Sigurðsson (University of Iceland) Hörmander's existence theory for the Cauchy-Riemann equations in one complex variable with applications to classical problems in complex approximation theory // Hörmander published his existence theory for the Cauchy-Riemann equations with L^2 estimates in an article in Acta Mathematica 113, 89-152 (1965) and extended the article to a textbook, An Introduction to Complex Analysis in Several Complex Variables, 1st Ed. 1966, 2nd Ed. 1973, 3rd Ed. 1990. His theory became an important tool in complex analysis for constructing holomorphic functions and differential forms and has been developed enormously by many mathematicians since 1965. The book is still one of the most important introductory text to complex analysis in several complex variables. In the lecture the plan is to look at Hörmander's theory in one complex variable.
