DERC Webinar: ‘Taking action’ in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years programme

This DERC webinar will see Laura Griffin and IB PYP educators Rosanne Boutin, Harpreet Mehta and Jane Whittle, collaboratively discuss action, engagement and curriculum design in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). Drawing on the wider field of global education and learning, the presentation will explore action as a central component of the PYP and connect this to the PYP Transdisciplinary themes which act as the starting point in supporting students’ critical engagement in personal, local and global issues. It will also touch upon issues of critical reflexivity, positionality and supporting contextualisation in diverse school contexts worldwide. After the presentation, Nicole Blum from DERC will provide a brief response and critique.
