Lancet Migration event, February 2020
On 5th February 2020, the UCL Institute for Global Health hosted a panel discussion and event to mark the start of: 'Lancet Migration: global collaboration to advance migration health'. The Lancet Migration global collaboration is a new collaboration between The Lancet and researchers, implementers, and others in the field of migration and health that aims to address evidence gaps and drive policy change, building on the recommendations of the UCL-Lancet Commission on Migration and Health published in December 2018. Speakers were from The Lancet, the World Health Organization, International Rescue Committee, International Organization for Migration, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Johns Hopkins University, University College London, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Medecins Sans Frontieres, and Columbia University. Prof Pam Sonnenberg's inaugural lecture: "Conceiving, mutating and mating ideas"
As a clinically-trained academic in public health and infectious disease epidemiology, Prof Sonnenberg’s research career has focused on areas of public health priority: TB/HIV, sexual health and STIs. In her Inaugural Lecture, Pam sheds light on her journey from a South African medical student to a leader of multi-disciplinary research teams, with the consistent aim of making a difference.

Prof Madhukar Pai: Reimagining TB Care
Leading tuberculosis physician, academic and advocate Prof Madhukar (Madhu) Pai of McGill University gives a special UCL-TB guest lecture. Prof Pai's talk took place on 9th April 2019. Jacqueline Huh of Stop TB followed Prof Pai's talk with an update on the Stop TB organisation's TB innovation work.

FPHS International Lecture 2018 with Prof Wafaie Fawzi (Harvard)
Please note that Prof Fawzi's slides can be accessed at https://www.ucl.ac.uk/global-health/fphs-lecture-prof-fawzi On 15th November 2018, Professor Wafaie Fawzi from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health visited UCL to give a lecture on the subject Advancing Nutrition for Global Health: From Discovery Research to Implementation Science. Much progress has been achieved in reducing maternal and child mortality globally, but significant gaps remain particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Prof Fawzi shared ideas on addressing the double burden of malnutrition, and relationships to infectious diseases and adverse pregnancy and child health outcomes.
