Planning for Biosafety Environments
With the rise of drug-resistant infections, the fight against disease gets harder each year. It is becoming increasing clear that the world needs new ways to face this threat. The Biosafety Design Initiative was created to tackle this threat and their new course - Planning for Biosafety Environments: Controlling Infectious Disease in Projects - launches June 19. This multidisciplinary course brings together clinicians, designers and managers to defeat the spread of infection. Through strong, collaborative facility and system design, they will eliminate risks to patients and teams. Together, they will build a shared vocabulary to improve future projects. This course seeks to address this issue by giving people the chance to experience what it is like to be deaf or hard of hearing. By learning from the experiences of real people, by examining the history of deaf and hard of hearing people in society and through practical applications, this course will improve understanding for all participants.
