devp0004_Breaking the ‘Boundary’ & Reusing the spaces
The 'contested development' is the theme of the study area of Chongqing and Chengdu in phase two, and the gap, separation and disharmony of the two areas between the commercial area of shopping centre and the residential-use area is one of the issues that emerged in the spatial development process. The prosperity of the commercial area contrasts sharply with the 'backwardness' of the old residential area, which create two different spatial images. Therefore, breaking the 'boundary' and reusing the street space is an opportunity to promote the connection of the two areas but also a way to create a harmony environment for residents.

Spatial Engagement Activity
For the engagement, we prepare to put a whiteboard in the public space of our apartment and provide a pen with purple light (invisible pen, which only can be seen through the purple light). People are feel free to express themselves through write down what they are thinking about/ concerns/ pressure in this space, aiming to provide a place for the neighbors and residents to release themselves(write down their pressure and concerns).
