Slade School of Fine Art- Saturday Short Courses Drawing - Introduction

Welcome to our Online Drawing Course from Slade School of Fine Art. This course runs for eight weeks (Tuesday evenings). The aims of the course are to explore drawing as a tool for thinking and as means of articulating form, using observation and perception as a starting point for visual enquiry. Later in the course we aim to encourage students to explore and nurture their own ideas through drawing. Students will be given the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of techniques and materials and it’s our aim that students leave the course not only with several drawings, but also with a set of criteria that allows them to further explore possibilities of drawing in their own time. Our experience has found that this course suits a cross section of experiences. It is exciting for complete beginners and also valued by those students who have drawing experience, but perhaps who have not had time to address drawing in a formal way.
